Because the Affiliates in Behavioral Health state-of-the-art practice offers both counseling and psychiatric care in one location, treatment is carefully coordinated to allow optimal levels of communication while avoiding costly duplication of services. Marcia Bremenour, L.P.C.C.

Marcia's 25 years experience in the counseling field includes 10 years of service supporting clients and families struggling with addiction and duel diagnosis issues, primarily at an intensive outpatient level of care. Marcia has been in private practice working with adults and teens, couples, and families for the last 15 years. She specializes in treating symptoms of mood disorders including anxiety, depression, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), and addiction as well as personality disorders including borderline, narcissism. and obsessive compulsive personality. Her work with clients addresses factors including self-care, self-esteem, motivation, boundaries, and quality of relationships and life in general. Marcia endorses a holistic approach to therapy and relies on evidence-based treatment methods including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Gestalt training, and spirituality to support recovery and a healthy lifestyle. She will work closely with other providers involved in your care including doctors and psychiatrists to support your overall wellbeing.
Benita K. Chernyk, Ph.D.

B.A. Psychology, University of Minnesota, Minneapolis Licensure/Certifications: Licensed Clinical Psychologist, (LP), Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor – Clinical Supervisory Endorsement, (LICDC-CS), Certified Employee Assistance Professional, (CEAP), Experience: Dr. Chernyk provides individual, couples, and group therapy and consultation services. She is cognitive-behavioral in her therapeutic orientation and is trained in multiple methods of evidence based treatment methods. She has a reputation for being able to confront difficult topics and ask tough questions. She treats a variety of problems including difficulty adjusting to life changes, anxiety and depression, eating disorders, coping with medical problems, grief and loss, PTSD, substance use and relationship issues. She works with couples who are considering long-term commitments, those with blended families and those who are dissolving their relationship. She has a wealth of experience in working with gay and lesbian issues. She has years of experience performing exams for a broad range of issues including ADHD, bariatric surgery exams as well as standard disability and specialized compensation and pension exams.

She provides psychotherapy to adolescents, adults, and their families. She works with individuals with a wide variety of diagnoses and clinical issues including depression, anxiety, personality disorders, substance abuse recovery, eating disorders, trauma, bereavement and parenting issues. She has specialized training in crisis intervention, trauma and school-related issues. Marina has also evaluated and treated individuals with addictions (including dual diagnosis and gambling)
Shura Hegde, M.D.

Carrie A. Singer, M.Ed., LPCC
Education: Masters Degree in Education in Community Counseling at Kent State University and a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Baldwin-Wallace College in Psychology. Licensure/Certifications: L.P.C.C., Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with the State of Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, Marriage & Family Therapist Board. Experience: Carrie A. Singer is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with 16 years of experience working in private practice, schools, and in community mental health agencies. Employment and volunteer work at two different rape crisis agencies enhanced Ms. Singer’s skills in the treatment of victims-trauma. In 2007, Ms. Singer received advanced training in Prolonged Exposure Therapy, (PET) and applied this expertise within a study of this evidence-based treatment method conducted by Kent State University and Summa Health System. Ms. Singer received an award as a “Portage County Hero” from The Portage County Council for the Prevention of Violence during National Crime Victims’ Right Week in 2006. She has delivered presentations regarding Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) in the treatment of traumatized children, adolescents, and adults. Ms. Singer is also skilled in the provision of Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Treatment. She specializes in working with children, adolescents and adults with symptoms of Mood Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, and with individuals adjusting to various life stressors and loss.
Tracy Broa-Turner, LPCC

Pupil Services Guidance Counselor License from the Ohio Board of Education. Experience: Tracy M. Broa-Turner is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with 21 years of experience working in private practice, schools, and in community mental health agencies. Employment for 18 years in a community-based agency providing school-based counseling and family preservation services also 3 years’ experience as a guidance counselor in an elementary-middle school. Experience working with children and adolescents with a variety of diagnosis including anxiety, ADHD, depression, adjustment disorders, oppositional defiant and conduct disorders. Experience working with children struggling with school issues such as social skills, bullying, academic deficits as well as inattention in the classroom. Tracy also understands the importance of working together with other providers involved in client care to ensure success and overall wellbeing.

Education: M.Ed., Community Agency Counseling - Cleveland State University Cleveland, OH B.A., Psychology -Cleveland State University Cleveland, OH Licensure/Certifications: L.P.C.C. - Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor Experience: In his nearly twenty years of experience, Mr. Williams has provided direct care, crisis intervention, treatment planning and counseling for children, adolescents and their families. In addition, he has worked with adults in outpatient settings, treating them for a variety of mental health conditions. Mr. Williams has also provided counseling and case management services to children diagnosed with cerebral palsy and other developmental disabilities.
